to confirm Edu's post..the brilliant Dave MacLennan of Oran Mor has very kindly agreed to allow us the use of their premisis to host an event on the evening of 12th April.
The billing continues to grow with many still to confirm. All details will be released shortly along with e-flyer.
Please please please use your Glasgow contacts and urge them to attend.Those who refuse to attend will be shot,survivers will be shot again ;)
The show itself will go under the banner of Chiledonia 8.8...more to come over the next few days.

Glasgow se organiza

Este es un post para promover otra actividad, esta vez en la vecina ciudad de Glasgow. Manuel Cifuentes nos cuenta que han encontrado un sitio para su primer evento. Este sera el dia Lunes 12 de Abril del 2010 en Oran Mor. Con la ayuda de Cora Bissett (actor y director de teatro) el evento tendra musicos escoceses de primera y humoristas varios. Manuel, cuando tengas mas informacion mandala para ponerla aqui...

Lugar para nuestro evento

En la reunion del dia Lunes 8 de Marzo acordamos organisar un evento cultural, incluyendo comida, musica (salsa/ceilidh), actividades infantiles, rifas, etc...

Carlos Arredondo ha pedido formalmente al Tollcross Community Centre la posibilidad de llevar a cavo el evento para alguno de los dias Saturday 27 of March or either the 11^th, 17^th , 24th of April de 5PM a ~11:30PM.

Stan quien dirige el Tolcross Comunity Centre nos ha confirmado que tenemos lugar para el dia Sabado primero de Mayo!!! Exelente noticia. El esta viendo todavia si se podra conseguir la banda de ceilidh o no.

Bueno, ya que tenemos dia y lugar podemos empezar a definir las actividades. Comentarios?

Buscando ONGs

Chris McLullich hablo con Gillian, la encargada de NIDOS (la red de organizaciones escoceses trabajando en desarollo social internacional y ayuda humanitaria) para poder contactar alguna ONG y usarla como medio para canalizar la ayuda.

Gillian responde:

NIDOS organisations that definitely already have appeals that you could channel the funds through are: Oxfam, British Red Cross, Save the Children, Mercy Corp.

On the other hand, Christian Aid is channelling their through a partner agency (Church World Service) but can take funds and pass on. Tearfund is sending some financial support to Partner organisations they used to work with in Chile (they stopped working there in 2007) and looking for funds for their disasters fund. Christian Blind Mission has partners in Conception that they are working with but nothing clear yet on whether they are running an appeal.

La creacion de Chiledonia 8.8

El pasado Lunes 8 de Marzo del 2010 nos jutamos varios chilenos, escoceses, latinoamericanos y amigos del mundo para organizar una ayuda para madar a Chile. Desde aca en Edinburgh queremos hacer un humilde gesto de apoyo a todos los chilenos que estan sufriendo en estos momentos. El sentimiento al estar tan lejos de nuestra tierra en momentos como estos, nos ha juntado con el ideal de poder construir una serie de actividades para reunir dinero que luego mandaremos a traves de alguna organizacion que esta todavia por decidirse.

Un resumen de todo lo planteado en la reunion se puede encontrar aqui.

En la reunion estubo claro la necesidad de divulgar todo evento que tenga relacion con mandar ayuda a Chile. Empezamos esta pagina web promocionando el evento del Sabado 13 de Marzo (ver imagen) como tambien el ceilidh para el 13 de Abril. Ambos eventos mandaran ayuda via la Cruz-Roja y la Fundacion Victor Jara.
